‘Come and Go’ — by H. WEND

Written by H. WEND, June 9th, 2023.

Seasons

come and go.

And, some

seem so quiet,

barely a season at all.

Fragments

float in the wind.

Mine,

they get away

as I come undone.

Reach out—

they disappear,

Be still—

let them return.

Come and go.

The heart grows heavy

when the sun is gone

far too long.

To linger in craving

only to be deprived.

Dark until light.

Come and go.

It’s not the season,

nor the weather

out there.

Not the cold

at my door,

nor the heat

in the air.

It is me—

seasons within.

I fall apart

to emerge again.

To come and go.

  1. Your poem is very deep, Hannah. There’s much food for thought here. The metaphor is a good one, and you presented it very well.
